Although we failed to retake our country in full, we did amazing things this year - and set up an infrastructure to win congress in '06. Here in Michigan, we went for Kerry and managed to pick up FIVE State House seats! Take a deep breath, take a good rest. Soon, get your friends and neighbors together and begin to organize anew for '06.
We are hopeful for '06 here in Michigan. Our entire legislature comes up for election, as well as Governor Granholm and Senator Stabenow. We simply cannot afford to be dejected by last night's results. If you don't like what happened, you'll like what happens if you don't stay engaged even less. Look forward. Democrats have to say, "We can't put shit back in The Donkey; where do we go from where we are?" Then we have to go there.We are far ahead of where the post-Goldwater crew were when they decided to put together a plan. We have our networks, blogs and many organizations like ACT. We must BUILD on these; don't get dejected.
I have all the admiration in the world for all that was achieved this year, in anticipation for '06 and '08.
